The southern Midlands enjoys well defined seasons with its warm dry summers and cool to cold and wet (most of the time!) winters. It is an ideal location for fruit trees, berries and chickens. Southern midlands used to have extensive apple orchards but the local industry fell foul of the expanding orchards of the Huon Valley.
We have bred and raised chickens for over 20 years from which we collect our own eggs. We have given away many dozens of eggs over the years to family and friends.
